| Philosophy
The philosophy of St. Patrick School is rooted in the belief that all children should experience the joy of learning. The purpose of learning is both spiritual and intellectual. We, the school community of St. Patrick Parish, are committed to acknowledge and affirm the presence of God and to make his Gospel message known and lived. We foster an appreciation and knowledge of our faith through careful teaching of the truths and by our daily example. Student-Teacher Relationship Parents are apprised of student progress on a regular basis. Interim Progress Reports and Trimester Progress Reports and distributed with conferences if necessary. Parents know that our teachers are available for telephone conferences or meetings should the need arise. The teachers at St. Patrick Schoool are dedicated professionals who strive to teach as Jesus did, by word and example. They contribute to the Catholic nature of the school by their example and by their commitment to Catholic education. Students at St. Patrick know that the teachers are there to serve the best interests of the children. Students are expected to be the best that they can be because that is what Jesus expects of them. Students set goals for their personal progress at the beginning of each school year. They know they can go to their teachers for support and advice. The teachers expect the students to meet responsibilities appropriate to their maturational level. Administrative Process The cooperative efforts of pastor, principal, and teachers provide for effective administration of the school. The pastor is the administrtor of the parish. The principal, as administrator of the parish school, serves as instructional leader and the day to day administrator of the school. Leadership is shared in that the faculty assumes administrative responsibilities that allow for an orderly school program. A Parish School Commission appointed by the pastor, in consultation with the principal, advises on educational policy. The Parish Finance and Tuition Boards set tuition policy. The Home-School Association is a communication liaison between home and school. Diocesan guidelines that are set by the Office of Catholic Education are followed. A student handbook and a faculty handbook prepared with faculty consensus set forth guidelines for our particular school. |
